New World creators backed by Amazon Games develop new MMORPG based on The Lord of the Rings universe

A new MMORPG based on the super-popular fantasy franchise The Lord of the Rings is in development.

Here's What We Know

The creation of an online game in the J.R.R.Tolkien universe was announced by Amazon Games and the owner of the Middle-earth Enterprises series.

The project is being developed by Orange County, which had previously released a multiplayer role-playing game called New World with the support of Amazon Games.

About the new game we only know that it will be an open world, and that it will be released on PC and consoles. We will have to wait a long time for the release, as the project is in the early stages of production.
