Single-player horror, team PvE game, film and comic book: Dead by Daylight creators reveal ambitious plans for the franchise
Asymmetrical online horror game Dead by Daylight turns seven years old, and to mark the occasion, the game's developers held a live stream to talk about the franchise's development plans.
Here's What We Know
Game designers from Behaviour Interactive revealed that in addition to major Dead by Daylight updates, there are several new games in development for this universe.
One of the projects is being handled by Midwinter Entertainment, a studio that has recently been part of Behaviour Interactive. It will be a team PvE game for four players, the action will unfold in the locations of the "Entity's Realm".
The second project is even more interesting: it is being developed by the famous Supermassive Games, the author of thriller and horror Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology and The Quarry. It will be a single-player story game with a non-linear and suspenseful plot and freedom of action. It will probably, like other Supermassive Games games, be a project in the "interactive movie" genre. More details about the development will be revealed in late 2023.
Also, Behaviour Interactive is working with Atomic Monster and Blumhouse on a feature-length film adaptation of Dead by Daylight, but so far the film is in the early stages of production.
And in June, Dead by Daylight fans will be able to purchase the first issue of the comic book of the same name.
