The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was released today, but it can't be called a happy event for fans of the Tolkien universe.
Critics have shared their impressions about the game and it is ... a disaster!
Here's What We Know
Critics are unanimous: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a boring, monotonous, outdated and secondary game. This is most eloquently evidenced by the scores on the aggregators:
- On OpenCritic the stealth action game got only 39 points, and only 5% of reviewers recommend it;
- On Metacritic the situation is slightly better: PC-version got 43 points, and on PlayStation 5 the game is evaluated with 37 points.
There's no point in listing the game's specific flaws, as there are too many. The only bright side of Gollum are the familiar characters that appear in the frame, but they don't save Daedalic Entertainment's game either.
