Ritualistic murders, two protagonists and multiple locations: first details of Alan Wake 2 thriller revealed

After the Alan Wake 2 trailer was shown at the PlayStation Showcase, fans had a lot of questions for the game's developers. The Remedy game designers were quick to answer some of them.

Here's What We Know

The events of Alan Wake 2 take place thirteen years after the end of the first part - about the same time as between the releases of the thrillers.

The main location is the same - the provincial town of Bright Falls, but the game begins not with supernatural events, but with ritualistic murders. These events interest the FBI and two agents arrive in town, one of whom will be Saga Anderson. Along with Alan Wake, she will become a full playable character.

Her partner will be Alex Casey, played by Sam Lake, writer and creative director at Remedy.

While investigating a murder, the agents will begin to find pages written by Alan Wake and what is written on them begins to come true. During the investigation, Saga Anderson and Alex Casey become interested in the identity of the missing writer and ...

Alan Wake 2 locations will not be limited to Bright Falls and playing as Saga Anderson, gamers will find themselves in the nearby town of Watery and the gloomy forest that surrounds the area. Playing as Alan Wake, players will explore the phantasmagoric Dark Place.

The developers of Alan Wake 2 insist that it's not necessary to pass the first part to understand the plot and the thriller will be interesting both for old fans of the game and newcomers.

When We Can Expect It

Alan Wake 2 will be released on October 17 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
