EA has started cooperation with Nike on .Swoosh web3 platform
Electronic Arts has partnered with sports brand Nike to create a .Swoosh "digital community experience" powered by web3. The partnership will provide an "immersive experience" and "completely new levels of customisation" in EA sports games.
Here's What We Know
In future projects within the EA Sports series and the joint EA Sports with Nike, selected virtual goods will be made available for purchase, providing players with unique new opportunities for self-expression and creativity through sports and style.
.Swoosh was launched in November last year and is currently in beta. It uses blockchain technology as a home for virtual creations. Nike aims to offer an "inclusive, fair place for athletes, creators, collectors, and consumers".
The .Swoosh recently released a collection of virtual sneakers that are sold in the NFT format. These sneakers are available in special packages that can be received randomly, and owners have the opportunity to decide whether to unpack them and add them to their collection.
Currently, Nike's cooperation with EA does not include the use of NFT, but there is an opportunity for a joint project that could combine the two platforms.
