Marvel Snap adds a "competitive ladder" with a new Conquest mode
One of the most successful card games and arguably Hearhstone's main competitor, Marvel Snap, will soon get a long-awaited feature with the release of a battle mode. During the Summer Game Fest, the game's lead developer, Ben Brode, announced the launch of a brand new Conquest mode on June 13.
Here's What We Know
Marvel Snap's Conquest mode is similar to the standard "competitive ladder" found in other digital card games. Players start from the lowest level, called Proving Grounds. Winning at this level earns players a "silver ticket" that they can use to advance to the Silver level. Wins on the silver level unlock a golden ticket, and so on, until the player reaches the Infinity level. A single defeat ends a player's rise, requiring a new ticket, which can be earned or purchased using the premium gold currency Snap.
It's not quite a typical competitive ladder, as a defeat drops you back to the starting level, but the higher you climb, the more wins you need to get to the next level, and each victory awards "medals" that can be used to buy goodies from a special shop. Plus, participating in Conquest mode doesn't affect your overall season ranking, so you can use it to safely test new decks - something the Snap community has long asked for.
