Atypical FromSoftware project: journalists from industry publications have tried out Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon and shared their first impressions
Here's What We Know
A closer look reveals that the gameplay of Armored Core VI is not like FromSoftware's current games (Elden Ring and Dark Souls). This game is much more dynamic and active, and is focused on long-range combat.
Also, by controlling a mech combat robot, the player can move in all three dimensions, which adds extra room for tactical maneuvering and flexibility in battles.
Reviewers have pointed out that while it's unlikely that players who are only familiar with Hidetaka Miyazaki and FromSoftware's latest titles will be interested in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, old fans of the franchise will be.
The game intelligently conveys the sensations of controlling a huge combat vehicle, while requiring the player to be thoughtful about energy allocation, target selection, enemy positioning and terrain type.
When We Can Expect It
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will be released on August 25, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series and Xbox One.
Players can pre-order, including the Collector's Edition, which includes a monumental mech figurine.
