Final Fantasy XVI will still receive a "day one patch" to optimise performance and fix bugs
After rumours surfaced that Final Fantasy XVI would not have a day one patch, the development team decided to dispel them - there will be a patch, as they announced during the Pre-Launch Celebration. The patch is about 300 MB in size and will be available on 20 June. It is designed to optimise the performance of the game in some of its sections.
Here's What We Know
Other fixes include a checkbox issue that can cause progress to be blocked, as well as a fix for an issue that can cause the game to end unexpectedly under certain "very special circumstances". In addition, minor textual errors have been fixed. Performance optimisation is particularly important, as the demo version showed problems with supporting 60 FPS in performance mode.
Time will tell how these changes will affect the game, so we recommend that you stay tuned for more details.
When We Can Expect It
Final Fantasy XVI will be released on 22 June exclusively for PlayStation 5.
