PlayStation Mobile CEO resigns from his position to "pursue a new opportunity"
In recent years, PlayStation has shown ambition to expand its presence beyond the traditional console gaming space. They have taken notable steps such as releasing PC games, developing live services, and television and film adaptations. However, the company has not yet taken similar steps in terms of mobile gaming.
Here's What We Know
One of the important steps forward was made when Sony announced the acquisition of Savage Game Studios and the hiring of Nicola Sebastiani, a former Apple employee, as the head of its PlayStation Mobile division. However, according to MobileGamer.biz, Sebastiani has left the company and is no longer in charge of the mobile division in order to take advantage of the new opportunity.
Back in early 2021, Sony announced its intention to bring "the most popular PlayStation franchises" to mobile devices and expand its audience to millions of gamers beyond consoles. Additionally, Sony acquired Savage Game Studios last year as part of its mobile initiatives, and their mobile team is currently working on a new unannounced mobile AAA action game.
