Electronic Arts is embarking on a major reorganisation: the company will be split into two large divisions, EA Entertainment and EA Sports

Swedish holding company Embracer Group has recently started a major reorganisation of its studios' workflow to make them more efficient.

Today, another video game giant announced the start of a major restructuring.

Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson has revealed that there will be a big change in the way his company operates.

The publishing house will be divided into two large divisions: EA Entertainment and EA Sports. This move will improve the efficiency of internal studios, empower creative teams and potentially improve the quality of projects.

Each division will deal with games of a specified focus.

A number of senior management personnel changes is also announced. 

  • Thus, the position of president of EA Entertainment will take Laura Miele, who previously served as executive director of EA. 
  • Electronic Arts' head of mainstream sports simulation development Cam Weber has been appointed president of EA Sports.
  • Vince Zampella - former head of Respawn Entertainment will lead the teams working on Apex Legends, Battlefield and Star Wars.
  • Samantha Ryan will take the lead on developing high-budget single-player games and live-action franchises.
  • Jeff Karp will be responsible for mobile development.
