Former Sonic Mania developers announce 3D platformer Penny's Big Breakway

Evening Star, which was founded by former Sonic Mania creative director Christian Whitehead, has announced the release of its debut project - 3D platformer Penny's Big Breakway. The game's development team also included Sonic Mania CEO and lead producer Dave Padilla, art director Tom Fry, chief technical officer and game director Hunter Bridges, and design director Brad Flick, who also worked on Sega's 2017.

Here's What We Know

Penny's Big Breakaway is described as a charming, colourful adventure where the player controls Penny, the protagonist, who must avoid an endless army of clumsy penguins as she navigates through a variety of challenging levels including swinging, throwing, tumbling and jumping.

When We Can Expect It

The game will be available on Xbox Series, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC in early 2024.
