Will E3 return in 2024 and 2025? No decisions have been made on the event yet, only negotiations are underway

On June 22, ResetEra published information from the Los Angeles Board of Tourism Commissioners indicating that E3 2024 and E3 2025 will be cancelled, but it turned out to be too early to draw such conclusions.

Here's What We Know

GamesIndustry.biz contacted the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) for comments on the cancellation of E3. It turned out that no decisions have been made regarding the event, and negotiations are currently underway for E3 2024 (and beyond).

Stanley Pierre-Louis, ESA CEO, also said the following:

"We're committed to providing an industry platform for marketing and convening but we want to make sure we find that right balance that meets the needs of the industry. We're certainly going to be listening and ensuring whatever we want to offer meets those needs and at that time, we will have more news to share"

Flashback

The last time E3 was held in full was in 2019. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was impossible to hold such an event, and now companies prefer to hold their own shows, as Xbox, PlayStation, Ubisoft, and others do. Whether one of the largest gaming exhibitions will ever return or not is a question.
