Here's What We Know
Twisted Metal is an original take on the PlayStation car combat series, executive produced by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers of Deadpool and Zombieland. Michael Jonathan Smith, who wrote and produced Cobra Kai, also wrote and executive produced the show.
According to the official synopsis, the series tells the story of how "a tongue-in-cheek outsider is offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland."
"With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck."."
In addition to Mackie, Twisted Metal features Will Arnett, Samoa Joe, Thomas Haden Church, Stephanie Beatriz, and Neve Campbell.
Twisted Metal will start airing in the U.S. on 27 July, and the average episode will be 30 minutes long.
