Square Enix says it is "considering various ideas" for future remasters of its pixelated games
Over the past few years, Square Enix has been carefully and gradually releasing Pixel Final Fantasy remasters to various platforms, bringing modernised and updated versions of the first six Final Fantasy games. Due to its commercial success, Square Enix is considering further Pixel remasters for other older games from its previous catalogue.
Here's What We Know
During a recent Q&A session with shareholders, when asked about the possibility of further pixel remasters following the success of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, a member of the company's Board of Directors said that there are no specific details at this time, but Square Enix is "considering various ideas" in this regard:
"We will refrain from sharing information about new titles, but we are considering various ideas within the company and hope that you will look forward to forthcoming announcements".
Of course, Square Enix's library of titles is not short of beloved old titles that fans would love to see revamped, and with the company investing heavily in remasters and HD-2D remakes, there's a good chance that a few of them will see the light of day in the coming years. Or at least we can hope for that.
