Sony invests more than $2 billion in research and development of innovative game services
Sony Corporation continues to implement its long-term strategy aimed at strengthening the position of the gaming direction.

Analytical portal Nikkei reports that Sony by the end of the current fiscal year (until 1 April 2024) plans to invest in research and development of game services 300 billion yen (about $ 2.13 billion). This amount corresponds to 40 per cent of the Sony Group's total R&D spending over the period.
Head of PlayStation Jim Ryan (Jim Ryan) has repeatedly stated that his company by 2030 plans to become a leader in the field of games-services, and at the moment in the development finds more than a dozen of such projects in different settings and genres. It is known that Sony plans to release 12 games-services by April 2026, and some of them will be available not only on PlayStation, but also on PC and mobile devices.
