Cyberpunk 2077's scandalous release is sure to go down in video game history.

Here's What We Know

For eight years, the developers did not skimp on loud promises, released stunning trailers, conducted an unprecedented advertising campaign, postponed the release several times and even managed to delay the release of the game after it "went gold".

Of course, gamers showed a huge interest in Cyberpunk 2077 and made 8 million pre-orders. On the release day of the Polish role-playing game the peak one-time online exceeded more than a million players, which was an absolute record, beating the previous one (Fallout 4) twice.

And then the unimaginable happened: the terrible technical state of the game was revealed, especially on PS4 and Xbox One. Complaints, refunds, lawsuits, removal of Cyberpunk 2077 from the PS Store, the fall of the studio's impeccable reputation, the collapse of CD Projekt's share price and many other negative consequences followed.

To the credit of the developers, they did not lay down their hands and for more than two years methodically improved the game, making it, finally, one of the most technological, advanced and cool games of our time. This is confirmed by the user rating. So, now in Steam more than 80% of reviews (almost half a million) - praise. "Very positively" - such an assessment puts the majority of gamers.

CD Projekt RED community manager Marcin Momot thanked the community on behalf of the studio for the support and interest in Cyberpunk 2077.

I wonder if the game's rating will increase with the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion, because after its release Cyberpunk 2077, as the developer promises, will become a completely different game.
