Two new projects of Prince of Persia series - The Sands of Time remake and 2D-platformer The Lost Crown, presented last month - have caused an extremely strong and ambiguous reaction of the public.
It's still hard to say whether the scepticism of the series fans is justified, but TheGamer portal asked the franchise creator Jordan Mechner for his opinion about these Ubisoft projects.

In his opinion, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is exactly what is needed after 13 years of oblivion of the series. It is both a return to the classics and the realisation of new ideas. Jordan Mechner also mentioned the new hero, which many people didn't like. He does not consider Ubisoft's decision to change the protagonist to be wrong, and the public reaction is perceived as a manifestation of interest and concern.
