Success in early access: Over 1 million copies of The Outlast Trials co-op horror sold in 2 months after release

In an interview with DualShockers, Phillipe Morin, co-founder of Red Barrels Studio, talked about the success of the co-op horror game The Outlast Trials.

Here's What We Know

The game was released in early access on PC in May 2023 and has sold more than 1 million copies since then. Philip also mentioned that the studio had never worked on a game for so long before. It took about 5 years to release Trials in early access.

Now the main task of Red Barrels Studio is to create a lot of content for the game. And although the studio has grown significantly in recent years, it is still not an AAA studio. And considering that this is the first multiplayer game for the team, they still need time to do everything at a good level.

The Outlast Trials offers to assemble a team of up to 4 people, where you will have to survive together in a crazy place, hide from horrible creatures, conduct your investigation and get out. The game is currently available on PC, and the release date for consoles is unknown.
