The impossible has become possible! Electronic Arts and Respawn are porting Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to last generation consoles PS4 and Xbox One
Electronic Arts has published its financial report for the 1st quarter of the current fiscal year.
In addition to information about the record financial performance, EA CEO Andrew Wilson made an unexpected statement in a conversation with investors.
Here's What We Know
Despite the fact that the developers previously stated that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor could not be released on last generation consoles due to the game's high tech nature, it will still be ported to PS4 and Xbox One.
Andrew Wilson stated:
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a blockbuster game based on a timeless intellectual property. Our team at Respawn was proud to release this game to critical acclaim and commercial success. Millions of players have already engaged with the game, making it one of the biggest events in the Star Wars universe this year. Due to the strength of this legendary franchise and community demand, our development team has committed to bringing this Jedi experience to PS4 and Xbox One.
It's not entirely clear how Survivor will work on outdated "hardware", as even on modern devices and powerful PCs the game had serious problems, due to which the action game was heavily criticised.
We hope that experienced game designers from Respawn will be able to port a great game to last generation consoles.
