Rumour: Borderlands 4 could be released in 2023, two sources close to the development have indicated at the same time
It's been known since 2021 that Gearbox is working on the next instalment of the Borderlands series.
During this time two spin-offs were released: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and New Tales from the Borderlands, but until now there was no information about Borderlands 4.
Here's What We Know
One of the Reddit users gave two arguments in favour of the fact that the shooter is not only in active development, but will be released very soon.
- Voice actress Angie Jho Lee pointed out in her portfolio that she voiced the character Ayumi in Borderlands 4, and the game will be released in 2023.
- The game's producer Nadya Danova indicated on her Linkedin profile that she is working on Borderlands 4, with a release date of 2023.
Angie Jo Lee and Nadya Danova later deleted all information about Borderlands 4.
To summarise: there is no doubt that a new part of Borderlands is in development and its release won't have to wait long, but the release of Borderlands 4 in 2023 seems unlikely.
It should be noted that Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford prefers not to make early announcements, so if the debut trailer of the game is shown to the public soon, it's very likely that Borderlands 4 could be released this year.
