Sony to Make a More Powerful PlayStation 4 for 4K-games
While Microsoft debates the future of video game consoles, Sony engineers are working on a new model of PlayStation 4 which will support 4K-resolution gaming. At the San Francisco GDC 2016 show the Japanese company discussed the possibility of creating a more powerful version of their game console, according to Kotaku sources. The new product code-named PS4.5 will have an updated processor and graphics card to run more impressive games and will work with the virtual reality helmet PlayStation VR.
PlayStation 4 supports 4K video playback, but games available un the market are available only in 1080p resolution. There is no information how Sony is planning to solve the problem of compatibility between different versions of their consoles, and whether the original model will be discontinued or not. The company has not yet made a final decision about the PS4.5 release. In any case, the new game system won’t be available until the next year.
