Owners of Google Pixel phones will soon have the opportunity to take advantage of an important safety feature - Satellite SOS. An update to Google's Adaptive Connectivity Services app indicates this news.

Here's What We Know

According to Google News on Telegram, the Satellite SOS feature will allow you to send messages to emergency services and provide your location in the event of a mobile network or Wi-Fi connection failure. With Satellite SOS, you will be able to send messages or call emergency services via satellite, as well as share your location via Google Maps.

In terms of functionality, Satellite SOS is very similar to Emergency SOS via satellite on iPhone 14 and iPhone 15. In the event of a cellular or Wi-Fi outage, your Google Pixel device will display the SOS icon on the status bar. You will then be able to call emergency services or send a text message using the satellite connection.

It's not yet known which Pixel devices will receive Satellite SOS and whether it will be available on existing models. However, fans will be able to find out this information at the Google I/O conference, which will take place in just a few months.
