Google, along with the Pixel 7a, has announced a more interesting device, but likely less popular in terms of sales. The model is called the Pixel Fold. It is the US company's first bendable smartphone.

Here's What We Know

The Google Pixel Fold has a booklet form factor. Like other similar devices, it features two displays. Both use an OLED panel with HDR and 120Hz refresh rate.

The internal screen features a 7.6" diagonal size, brightness up to 1450 nits and a resolution of 2208 x 1840 pixels. The external display is 5.8" diagonal and brightness up to 1550 nits. The resolution is Full HD+ (2092 x 1080). It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.

The flagship has five cameras at once. Two front modules are installed in each screen (9.5 MP and 8 MP). The main camera has a resolution of 48 MP + 10.8 MP + 10.8 MP. One of the 10.8 MP modules has a 5x zoom.

The Google Pixel Fold is 12.1 mm thick when folded and 5.8 mm thick when unfolded. The Huawei Mate X3 has 11.8mm and 5.3mm respectively, but that doesn't stop Google from calling its new product the world's thinnest foldable smartphone. The manufacturer also claims to use the world's sturdiest hinge, which can withstand 200,000 folds.

The hardware platform is built around the 2.85GHz Tensor G2 chip with Mali-G710 MC10 graphics. The smartphone gets 12GB of RAM and the storage capacity is 256GB or 512GB depending on the variant.

The Pixel Fold is equipped with a 4,821mAh battery with 30W fast charging capacity. The smartphone also gets stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, GPS and Bluetooth. The casing has IPX8 water protection. The operating system used is Android 13.

Price & When We Can Expect It

Google is already taking pre-orders, but sales of the Pixel Fold will start in the summer. The smartphone is priced at $1799 / €1899 / £1749 and $1919 / €2019 / £1869 respectively in 12/256GB and 12/512GB variants. The company is giving away a Pixel Watch when you order before July 2.
