Google Maps is testing a new feature: building entrance icons for easy navigation
Google Maps is running a new test to make city navigation even more convenient. The latest update added building entrance icons to the map. When approaching a building, users see small green icons that show possible entrances. This is especially useful for users looking for cafes, restaurants, hotels, doctors' offices, or supermarkets.
Here's What We Know
The feature is being tested in selected cities, including New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Berlin. However, it is currently only available to a limited number of users and locations. Google is continuing to improve this feature before rolling it out to all users.
In addition, Google has recently launched another useful project that makes navigation easier for mobile users. "Glanceable directions" are now available on the lock screen of the device and allow you to see a blue arrow that indicates the direction of travel even when the display is locked.
