Honor Magic 6 Pro smartphone lets you remotely control your car with a glance
While Elon Musk continues to promise full autopilot for Tesla, today's smartphones allow you to drive with a single glance.
Details
Last month, Honor unveiled the Magic 6 Pro smartphone, which features an artificial intelligence-based eye tracking system. It uses Eyeware's GazeSense software, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a 3D ToF sensor on the front. So far, it's just a prototype, and the feature is only available in China for now.
British expert in mobile engineering James Brighton conducted an experiment and showed that the car can be controlled with a glance using Honor Magic 6 Pro. To do this, you need to launch the app and look at the corresponding menu item on the screen for a few seconds.
This way you can start or stop the engine, even make the car move forwards or backwards - for example, to get out of a tight parking space.
Unfortunately, this isn't a fully finalised and finished feature just yet, but just a demonstration of what artificial intelligence can do. Hopefully, Honor will reveal more details during its scheduled event at MWC.
