Honor V Purse - a foldable smartphone in the form of a woman's handbag with Snapdragon 778G priced at just $820

On the first day of autumn, Honor unveiled the Magic V Purse, a foldable smartphone, at IFA 2023 in Berlin. Two and a half weeks later, it debuted in China without the magic in its name. Now we know the specifications and price.

Here's What We Know

The Honor V Purse has overall dimensions of 156.5 x 74.57 x 8.6 mm when folded and weighs 2014g. One of the features is the main display, which folds outwards instead of inwards. The OLED panel is 7.71" diagonal and has a resolution of 2348 x 2016 pixels.

When folded, the user will get a 6.45" diagonal screen. In this mode, the resolution is 2348 x 1088 pixels. The display is based on a 10-bit matrix with a frame refresh rate of 120Hz.

The hardware centrepiece of the Honor V Purse is the Snapdragon 778G chip. The processor is complemented by 16GB of RAM and the storage capacity is 256GB or 512GB. The battery has a capacity of 4,500 mA*h and 35W charging.

Honor V Purse is equipped with three cameras. At the back, there is a pair of 50 MP and 12 MP modules. The latter has received ultra-wide-angle optics. There is a small hole in the screen, which houses an 8 MP selfie module.

The smartphone has stereo speakers, NFC, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. There is no headphone jack. The model runs on Android 13 operating system, which is complemented by MagicOS 7.2 proprietary firmware.

Price & When We Can Expect It

About the release of Honor V Purse in the global market so far there is no information, despite the formal announcement, but residents of China will be able to buy the smartphone already on 26 September 2023. The cost depending on the modification was $820 or $900.
