Huawei P60 - Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 120Hz LTPO display, IP68 and two-way satellite connectivity from $655
Huawei held a big presentation where it unveiled four smartphones at once. We have already written about the Mate X3, but now let's talk about the Huawei P60. It is the most modest flagship of the new generation.
Here's What We Know
The Huawei P60 got the old Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. There is no 5G support. The chip is complemented by 8GB of RAM and the storage capacity is 128GB, 256GB or 512GB depending on the modification.
On the front, there is an LTPO OLED display with a frame rate of 1-120Hz and a resolution of 2700 x 1220 pixels. The diagonal is 6.67". Colour quality is certified by TÜV Rheinland. The screen has a built-in fingerprint scanner and a cutout for a 13 MP front camera.
The Huawei P60 gets a triple main camera with 48 MP + 13 MP + 12 MP. The main module features a f/1.4-4 interchangeable aperture. The periscope (12 MP) has got optical stabilisation and allows you to shoot with a 5x zoom without loss of quality. The digital zoom is 100x.
Special attention should be paid to the RYYB colour filter. It allows collecting 40% more light than RGB. But the filter is used only in the main and ultra wide angle cameras. The novelty has received support for XMAGE technologies for image processing and can shoot video in 4K UHD.
The power subsystem in the Huawei P60 is represented by a 4,815mAh battery. The fast charging capacity is 66W (wired) and 50W (wireless). The smartphone is equipped with stereo speakers, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and runs on HarmonyOS 3.1. The dimensions are 161 x 74.5 x 8.3 mm and the weight is 197 g. The casing has IP68 water protection. Also note the Beidou satellite communication system. The Huawei P60 can not only send but also receive text messages.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The Huawei P60 will go on sale on April 7, 2023 in four body colours: Feather Purple, Feather Black, Emerald Emerald and Rococo White (limited edition). The smartphone was priced at $655, $730 and $875 depending on the modification.
