Instagram now has the ability to edit private messages
Instagram users can now correct their mistakes in private messages within 15 minutes of sending them. The feature was announced by Meta, which owns Instagram, on Monday.
Here's What We Know
Previously, if a user wanted to change their private message, they had to delete it and resend it. Now, all you have to do is tap and hold on the message for the edit menu to appear. However, the correspondence will show that the message has been edited.
Instagram has also added other features to improve communication in private messages, such as the ability to turn on and off read notifications, pin chats, and reply with stickers, GIFs, videos, photos, and voice messages.
The edit feature appeared in Instagram chats a few months after Meta rolled it out for Messenger. While cross-platform messaging between Instagram and Messenger has been impossible since December, the two messaging apps owned by Meta continue to share a number of common features.
