iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and watchOS 10 will be released on September 18: who will get the update
Apple unveiled updates to iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14 Sonoma and watchOS 10 back in early June. And now it has announced the final release date.
When We Can Expect It
Apple has previously released beta versions for developers, Release Candidate versions are available from today, and on 18 September users will receive the final versions of iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and watchOS 10. You can check for the update under Settings - Basic - Software Update.
iOS 17 is for smartphones:
- all iPhone 14 models
- all iPhone 13 models
- all iPhone 12 models
- all iPhone 11 models
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XS Max
- iPhone XR
- iPhone SE (2020 and 2022)
iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max got iOS 17 out of the box.
iPadOS 17 will get tablets:
- iPad Pro (2nd generation and newer)
- iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
- iPad (6th generation and later)
- iPad mini (5th generation and later)
The watchOS 10 operating system is for Apple Watch Series 4 and newer models, namely:
- Apple Watch Series 4
- Apple Watch Series 5
- Apple Watch SE
- Apple Watch Series 6
- Apple Watch Series 7
- Apple Watch Series 8
- Apple Watch Ultra
watchOS 10 is already pre-installed on the new Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
But macOS 14 Sonoma is due for release a little later on September 26.
