Components of the US version of the iPhone 14 Pro Max cost $474 and the smartphone starts at $1099
Analyst firm Counterpoint Research has found out how the cost of components in the iPhone 14 Pro Max smartphone has changed compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Spoiler alert - it's gone up, but not by much.
Here's What We Know
The components of the base version of the smartphone (128GB) for the U.S. market are priced at $474. For other countries - at $454. This is due to the fact that the mmWave antenna is not required outside the US. Compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max with 128GB of internal memory, the cost of components has increased by 3.7%.
The main reason for the price hike was the Apple A16 Bionic mobile processor. Its price jumped by $11. The chip is one of the components developed by Apple itself. Their share in the cost of goods is 22%. Only 1% went up in price for the camera, which features a 48MP Sony sensor and Sunny Optical optics.
