Apple cuts production of iPhone 14 - buyers prefer Pro models
It seems that not all new smartphones 2022 have met Apple's expectations: according to Chinese media, the company is forced to cut production of the basic model iPhone 14 almost immediately after the start of sales.
Details
According to supply chain officials, Apple's largest electronics manufacturer Foxconn has been ordered to dismantle at least five production lines in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou. Previously, these lines were used to assemble the iPhone 14.
However, it is still unclear whether this reduction applies to the iPhone 14 Plus model.
By the way, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said this week that Apple is shifting production resources from the iPhone 14 to the iPhone 14 Pro, since the Pro versions are in high demand. Perhaps the iPhone 14 is not as popular because of the lack of significant differences from the iPhone 13.
Apple's official website now indicates that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will have to wait a few weeks, meaning there is still some shortage. At the same time, the iPhone 14 remains available without delay. It is too early to talk about the success of the iPhone 14 Plus - the smartphone will go on sale on October 7.
