According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new Star Wars movie is being prepared for filming. Damon Lindelof will co-write the script, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct.

The future of Star Wars on the big screen is mysterious. Lucasfilm has several options for the development of the franchise. The film by Patty Jenkins "Rogue Squadron", which was supposed to be released in December 2022, but is now postponed. Also, the director of the film "Thor: Love and Thunder" Taika Waititi was officially announced as the director of the film in the Star Wars universe, but there are still no details.
Disney also has untitled films from a distant galaxy scheduled for December 2025 and December 2027.
