The Hunger Games prequel could set a record for timekeeping
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Kites and Songbirds could be the longest film in the franchise.
According to The Movie DB, the prequel will have a running time of 2 hours and 45 minutes. Previously, the record for duration belonged to the second part of "The Hunger Games: And the Flames Will Flare" - the tape lasted 2 hours and 26 minutes.
About the Film
"The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" brings fans back to the world of "The Hunger Games" with a new story set long before the birth of Katniss Everdeen. The action revolves around the story of Panem Coriolanus Snow, a still-young dictator who prepares the girl Lucy for the tenth Hunger Games celebration. According to the plot, romantic feelings arise between the young people.
The role of Lucy is played by Rachel Zegler, Panem played by Tom Blyth. The cast also includes Peter Dinlage, Viola Davis and Hunter Schafer. The prequel, as well as the previous episodes of the original saga, will be directed by Francis Lawrence.
The premiere is scheduled for November 2023.
