The cancelled Netflix series Warrior Nun is preparing to return to the big screen in the form of three exciting films.

After weeks of an intense campaign by passionate fans pushing to save the cancelled fantasy, lead director Simon Barry confirmed its return back in July. And now, executive producer Dean English has announced that Warrior Nun is returning as a trilogy of films.

Here's What We Know

"I need to start by thanking all of you loyal fans". - stated the producer in a YouTube video posted on the website created for the #SaveWarriorNun campaign.

"I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures. Once again, a trilogy of feature films." - he added. "One thing we need to touch on involves the strike in Hollywood involving actors and writers. And it's due to that, that we cannot make any announcements today on that front", continued English, noting that they can not yet share news about the choice of actors or work behind the scenes.

Flashback

As a reminder, the "Warrior Nun" is based on characters introduced in Ben Dunn's "Ninja High School" comic books and aired for two seasons on Netflix.

The plot follows the plight of Ava, a young woman who wakes up in a morgue and discovers she has supernatural powers and a glowing halo embedded in her back. After years of illness, she is eager to catch up and explore the world. However, it turns out that she has been chosen by a higher power and is now the most important sister in a mysterious organisation called the Order of the Cruciform Sword. Together with the nuns, she will have to protect the world from (mostly invisible) demons and a particularly evil fallen angel.
