James Gunn reveals new and altogether disappointing details about DC's new "Batman" film
James Gunn has announced new details about the upcoming Batman film in the DC universe. It looks like fans will have to wait a bit longer to meet Damian Wayne. Director Andy Muschietti will provide his interpretation in Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
Here's What We Know
"I don’t know what you’re talking about but we don’t even have a script, and there’s a strike happening, so, no, no casting"," Gunn wrote in a post on Threads.
The film was announced earlier this year as part of a new DC line called "Gods and Monsters" created by Gunn and Peter Safran's. "The Brave and the Bold" will tell the adventures of Batman and his son, Damian Wayne, who Gunn says is "a real creep." Gunn previously explained.
The animated series of the same name aired on Cartoon Network from 2008 to 2011 and focused on Batman's shared adventures with other DC heroes. Damian Wayne was first introduced as the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul in the 1987 comic book Batman: Son of the Demon and subsequently became the fifth person to adopt the Robin moniker.
Andi Muschietti's film will be the first ever live-action incarnation of Damian Wayne, as well as the first return of the Batman and Robin duo to the big screen since Joel Schumacher's 1997 cult classic, starring George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell.
When We Can Expect It
As is already clear from Gunn's words, "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" still doesn't have an exact release date.
