Screenwriter Lindsey Anderson-Beer has shared some promising information about the development of "Star Trek 4".

Here's What We Know

The path for the fourth instalment of the "Star Trek" space saga has been a long and arduous one - back in 2022, it looked like the project was moving full steam ahead, but then production slowed down. But, after the latest statement from the film's writer, fans still have hope for a sequel.

Lindsay Anderson-Beer, the screenwriter of the sequel 'Star Trek: Beyond', has revealed that work on the film is still ongoing. Lindsay revealed this during an interview with Collider while discussing her work on "Pet Sematary: Bloodlines."

"It is, it's still on the tracks. I love that project, and it was another one that I had to hop off of to direct this movie, and that was a hard thing to do. But I love everybody involved with that project."

The start of production on "Star Trek 4" was announced for back in 2022. At the time, the news surprised even the cast and crew, who found out about their return thanks to this announcement.

Captain Kirk, played by Chris Pine, stated in March 2023:

"In Star Trek land, the actors are usually the last people to find out anything. I know costume designers that have read scripts before the actors."

Later in August, it was stated that Matt Shakman would be leaving the director's chair as he begins filming Fantastic Four in the Marvel universe.

Undoubtedly, the latest news about the future of "Star Trek" sounds very encouraging, but we should not be glamourised, so as not to be disappointed later. Therefore, we suggest to be patient and see if the star engines will work.
