Miguel Bernardeau will once again wear the mask in the first teaser for Mediawan's upcoming "Zorro" reboot
Mediawan have shared the first official teaser for the "Zorro" reboot, which is being directed by Javier Quintas, nearly two decades after its last film adaptation.
Here's What We Know
The famous character Zorro, was created by Johnston McCulley in the early 19th century when he published stories about the masked hero in magazines of the time.
The vigilante's real name is Don Diego de la Vega, a skilled swordsman who lived in California during the Spanish rule. At first glance Diego appears to be a simple aristocrat with no concern for social justice, but his alter ego is a hero to his people who comes to the aid of the underprivileged people of New Spain and has a considerable bounty on his head from the government.
The character's story has been adapted several times, the most memorable works being the Disney series that ran from 1957 to 1959 starring Guy Williams, as well as one of the most popular adaptations starring Antonio Banderas.
Now it's Miguel Bernardeau's turn to don the mask and take up the sword of the famous vigilante.
Bernardeau is known to many for the TV series "Élite". Last year, he became part of the cast of "1899," the latest series from the creators of "Dark," which also aired on Netflix.
The "Zorro" series will consist of 10 episodes. The script is written by Carlos Portela. Miguel Bernardo is joined in the cast by Renata Notni, Dalia Xiuhcoatl, Paco Tous, Emiliano Zurita and Joel Bosqued.
