Netflix has announced that the animated series based on Konami's video game "Castlevania: Nocturne" will return with a second season
Castlevania: Nocturne will return with a second season, according to Netflix. The adaptation of Konami's games proved to be a hit - the first season was released just a week ago - but Netflix has already confirmed that it's working on a sequel.
Here's What We Know
Confirmation of filming on the second season of Castlevania: Nocturne comes with a brief teaser featuring concept sketches. Netflix simply states in the video description: "Castlevania: Nocturne will return for a Season 2. The project is currently in production."
Aside from what can be gleaned from the teaser trailer, Netflix has not provided any details regarding the second season.
The plot of "Nocturne" is set 300 years after the original Castlevania animated series. It draws inspiration from two of the most popular instalments of the classic video game series - 1993's "Castlevania: Rondo of Blood" and 1997's "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night". The plot describes the origin of Richter Belmont.
"Thanks to all of the Castlevania fans old and new for the amazing response and support! We are excited to be able to bring you more Castlevania: Nocturne and the next chapter in the rise of Richter Belmont." said contemporary directors Clive Bradley and Kevin Kolde in a joint statement released by Deadline.
