Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe can breathe a sigh of relief: a new report from Marvel confirms that the premiere of Deadpool 3 will not be delayed
According to The Wrap, Deadpool 3 will be released as planned on 3 May 2024. In addition, Marvel Studios is paying special attention to the production of Captain America: Brave New World, considering it a priority project in a possible lull in the world of film premieres.
Here's What We Know
"The immediate priority for all studios is to get the movies that were shut down in mid-production up and running again"
"The immediate priority for all studios is to get the movies that were shut down in mid-production up and running again" the agent told the publication.
We're sure all fans are already counting the days until seeing Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine on the big screen. However, the ongoing actor's strike is creating uncertainty not only for Deadpool 3, but also for several major film projects. It's comforting that a new report from Marvel suggests that the third instalment of Deadpool will not be subject to a postponement.
Negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and the film studios will reportedly resume on 11 October, a date close to 100 days since the strike began. Hopefully, the actors will follow the scriptwriters' lead and come to an early agreement with the studios.
Recall, in the first shots of Deadpool 3 we saw Hugh Jackman in Wolverine's costume, made in exact accordance with the original comics. However, director Shawn Levy is not sure if this will be Jackman's last outing in the role.
Levy shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:
"I don't know if this is our last shot at Wolverine on screen, so I was going to make goddamned sure we get the old yellow and blue just once, and that we get it right."
