Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire
To round off Netflix's Geeked Week event, the streaming service has unveiled the final trailer for Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon, which is split into two parts.
Here's What We Know
The first part with the title "Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire" will appear in December, and in the spring of 2024 we are expected to see the second film - "Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver". While this film becomes Snyder's latest collaboration with Netflix, they have also co-developed a video game for the franchise, a prequel comic series and an upcoming animated show based on the "Rebel Moon" universe.
Here's What The Movie Is About
In the first instalment of A Child of Fire, when a peaceful settlement in the farthest reaches of the universe is threatened by the armies of the tyrant Regent Balisarius, Cora, a mysterious stranger living in the settlement, becomes the people's last hope for survival. She is tasked with finding trained fighters who will join with her to create a resistance to the Mother World. Cora gathers a small group of warriors - outsiders, rebels, peasants and war orphans from different worlds who share a common need for redemption and revenge.
Rebel Moon's protagonist Cora is played by Sofia Boutella, known for The Mummy and Star Trek: Beyond. Charlie Hunnam of "Sons of Anarchy" and "Pacific Rim" fame plays Kai, a "mercenary starship pilot". Game of Thrones' Michiel Huisman plays Gunnar, a farmer called into service. Djimon Hounsou from "Blood Diamond" and "Shazam" is General Titus. Staz Nair from Supergirl plays Tarak, a blacksmith working in debt payment, he has been compared to Tarzan. Doona Bae from Cloud Atlas plays Nemesis, described as a "master of the sword". Ray Fisher of Justice League and Cleopatra Coleman of Dopesick will play brother and sister rebels Darrian and Devra. Newcomer E. Duffy will play Milius, the last member of the assembled group.
When We Can Expect It
"Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire" will be released in cinemas on December 15, 2023.
