Iman Vellani, one of the lead actresses of Marvels, said she was not concerned about the box office problems, "That's a question for Bob Iger"
"The Marvels" has had the worst start in Marvel's premiere history, with the film's box office receipts dropping 79% this weekend. But Iman Vellani, who plays one of the lead roles in the film, isn't letting the low numbers affect her mood.
Here's What We Know
According to the actress, the film's failure is a problem for Bob Iger, Disney's CEO.
"I don't want to focus on something that's not even in my control, because what's the point? That's for Bob Iger." Vellani told Yahoo! Entertainment.
For Vellani, the fact that she herself likes the film is enough. "[The box office] has nothing to do with me", - she added. "I'm happy with the finished product, and the people that I care about enjoyed the film. It's genuinely a good time watching this movie, and that's all we can ask for with these films. It has superheroes, it takes place in space, it's not that deep and it's about teamwork and sisterhood. It's a fun movie, and I'm just so happy that I can share it with people."
In "Marvels," Vellani as Ms. Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambo and Brie Larson as Carol Danvers team up to confront the villainous Dar-Benn, embodied by Zawe Ashton.
