'Superman: Legacy' casting: James Gunn names the new actors who will join the cast
"Superman: Legacy," which will be the first film in the re-imagined DC, is already in pre-production and the cast is almost formed. Now, James Gunn has introduced us to two more actors who will play Jimmy Olsen and Eve Teschmaker.
Here's What We Know
It was previously revealed that Nicholas Hoult will play the role of Lex Luthor. This time, Skyler Gisondo and Sara Sampaio have been cast for the roles of Jimmy Olsen and Eve Teschmaker, respectively.
Gunn, as is tradition, welcomed the actors with a social media post:
"After auditioning hundreds of folks for both of these roles, we finally found perfect fits with both [Skyler Gisondo] and [Sara Sampaio]. Can't wait for you guys to see them in action the summer of '25!".
With Jimmy Olsen and Eve Teschmaker selected, there are only a few characters left that have yet to find their performers.
Here's What The Movie Is About
When "Superman: Legacy" begins, audiences will see a world already filled with superheroes, and Superman is already in the midst of his fight against crime. Previously, DC Studios CEO Peter Safran said that the film will not be another Superman origin story. It focuses on how Superman balances his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. Superman represents truth, justice, and the American way of life.
The lead roles of Clark Kent and his lover Lois Lane are played by David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, respectively. The cast also includes Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern's Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mr Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and María Gabriela de Faría as The Authority's Engineer.
When We Can Expect It
"Superman: Legacy" hits cinemas on July 11, 2025.
