The Netflix platform has released the first footage from the upcoming series "The Gentlemen" from director Guy Ritchie.
Here's What We Know
The Miramax-produced series continues the storyline set in the 2019 film The Gentlemen, directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Goldingm, Eddie Marsan, Collin Farrell, Hugh Grant and Jeremy Strong. The original action-comedy drama grossed an impressive $115 million worldwide on a budget of only $22 million.
Series Overview
The story follows Eddie Horniman, embodied by Theo James, who unexpectedly becomes the heir to his father's luxurious country mansion. In the aftermath, he discovers it's part of a vast cannabis empire. Unfortunately for Eddie, a group of rather suspicious individuals from Britain's underworld seek to take possession of this empire. According to the official synopsis "Eddie tries to play the gangsters at their own game. However, as he gets sucked into the world of criminality, he begins to find a taste for it".
None of the original characters from the film will appear in the new series. The cast includes Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Giancarlo Esposito, Chanel Cresswell, Michael Vu, Max Beesley, Jasmine Blackborow, Harry Goodwins, Dar Salim, Pearce Quigley, Ruby Sear and Peter Serafinowicz.
When We Can Expect It
The Gentlemen series will be available on Netflix in 2024.
