The showrunner of The Last of Us TV adaptation has announced that the second season will start filming on February 12, 2024
We wrote that the filming of the second season of The Last of Us TV adaptation was supposed to start on 7 January. However, due to Pedro Pascal's busy schedule, the filming process was postponed to February 2024. Initially, there was information that everything would start on 20 February, but showrunner Craig Mazin announced the exact date of the start of filming.
Here's What We Know
During the discussion A Night in the Writers' Room moderated by Variety, Craig Mazin said that the second season of The Last of Us would start filming on 12 February.
The delay in the production process was caused by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, so the second season should not be expected until 2025. However, the authors have already fully scripted the sequel. Now they just need to switch on the cameras and start filming.
The first season was a real success for HBO and received 24 Emmy nominations, so the second season became known even before the first season finale was released.
