The trailer for the next film in the MonsterVerse franchise, Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, has been unveiled

MonsterVerse is about to get another Godzilla and Kong film directed by Adam Wingard, but in the meantime we've been shown the first trailer. And it looks like baby Kong is going to be in it, awwww.

Here's What The Movie Is About

In addition to the trailer, we've got the official synopsis : "This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever".

The cast includes familiar faces from MonsterVerse including Rebecca Hall as Dr Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henry as Bernie Hayes, Kaylee Hottle as Gia, and Fala Chen, Alex Ferns and Rachel House who will be joining the film.

As a reminder, MonsterVerse began with "Godzilla" directed by Gareth Edwards in 2014 and continued with "Kong: Skull Island " in 2017 before releasing a parade of kaiju in "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" in 2019.

Godzilla and Kong first came face-to-face in "Godzilla vs. Kong" in 2021, after humans moved the ape from Skull Island to Waste Land, the home planet of the monsters known as the Titans.

When We Can Expect It

"Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire" is scheduled for release in cinemas on April 12, 2024
