Christopher Abbott will replace Ryan Gosling in Blumhouse's 'Wolf Man' film
Christopher Abbott, known for his role in Poor Things, will have to learn how to howl at the moon in place of Ryan Gosling, who left the lead in Wolf Man.
Here's What We Know
Gosling, who was listed as starring in the film from 2020, has stepped down from his role, handing it over to Abbott, but will continue to work on the film with Leigh Whannell as executive producer.
Whannell also comes and goes. He was the original director of the film and was then replaced by Derek Cianfrance. However, Cianfrance left the project and Wannell took the director's chair again. This is Wannell's second experience in the Monsters universe, following his directing work on The Invisible Man in 2020.
Here's What The Movie Is About
While plot details remain a secret, it is known that the mystery plot will centre around a man whose family becomes the target of terror by a deadly predator.
The screenplay for Wolf Man is written by Wannell himself, Corbett Tuck, as well as Lauren Schuker Blum and Dumb Money's Rebecca Angelo. The film is produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse and Motel Movies.
Along with Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Wannell himself will serve as executive producers.
When We Can Expect It
"Wolf Man" is scheduled for release on 25 October 2024.
