Henry Cavill speculates on whether his role as the super spy from 'Argylle' will hinder his ability to play James Bond
It's no secret by now that Henry Cavill has long been a prime candidate for the role of Agent 007, following the departure of Daniel Craig. But now that Cavill has played a spy in the upcoming action-comedy Argylle, the question has arisen as to whether this will affect his chances of becoming the new James Bond.
Here's What We Know
Cavill gave an interview to Total Film in which he shared his thoughts on a possible Bond role and his character in Argylle.
"It’s a fun character. Whether I’m ruled out of Bond because of this or not is up to Barbara Broccoli and Mr. Wilson" - the actor said, referring to the production duo deciding all questions regarding Bond.
Cavill also shared some information about the hairstyle he will wear when he appears on screen in Argylle.
This stunning element of the character has been one of the most talked about parts of the film, and Cavill revealed that doing the "square" haircut was director Matthew Vaughn's idea.
"Look, trust me, I can make it look good", Vaughn said. "You know what? You don’t just wake up and have a flattop. It takes work. I don’t know if I have the time or the patience for that kind of carry-on when it comes to my hair, in real life", and commented on Cavill's new hairstyle.
When We Can Expect It
Argylle is released in cinemas on February 2.
