Steven Yeun gave the reason for his departure from the Thunderbolts, but admitted he still wants to be a part of Marvel
Yesterday, it was revealed that "The Walking Dead" star Steven Yeun has left the cast of Marvel's "Thunderbolts". At the time, no specific reasons for this decision were given, but today the actor revealed what made him leave.
Here's What We Know
Yeun confirmed that the reason for his departure was due to scheduling conflicts. However, he hopes that this is not the end of his journey in the MCU Universe.
"I think for me, time passing and things shifting kind of pulled me out of it."
Yeon is apparently really, really upset about having to leave the project. The actor stated that he really wanted to do the Marvel film and that it took a lot of effort for him to turn down the role:
"It took a lot of drafts on email to make sure that I conveyed the sincerity of how sorry I was to have to back out."
As for the rest of the Thunderbolts cast, Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena from Black Widow, while Sebastian Stan will return as Bucky Barnes, alongside Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who will also return to their roles in the MCU, alongside Harrison Ford and Ayo Edebiri.
When We Can Expect It
"Thunderbolts" will hit the big screen on July 25, 2025.
