"Ozark" star Julia Garner has joined the reboot of "Wolf Man"
It was recently revealed that Ryan Gosling has left the reboot of 'Wolf Man' and has been replaced by Christopher Abbott. Now, it's reported that actress Julia Garner, known to many for her role as Ruth Langmore in the "Ozark" series, has joined Universal Studios' reboot of the classic monster movie.
Here's What We Know
According to Variety, Garner has landed the role of a mother whose family is terrorised by a deadly predator, which Abbott will supposedly embody on screen.
Wolf Man is being directed by Leigh Whannell, who already handled the reboot of The Invisible Man in 2020.
Whannell originally took on "Wolf Man" and later left the project, to be replaced by Derek Cianfrance, who also didn't last long in the director's chair and Whannell is back on board.
Since Wannell has deviated greatly from the classic plot of The Invisible Man by giving it a whole new interpretation, there is a suspicion that Wolf Man won't be a typical monster movie either.
Since the announcement, the project has been described as following the hero, reminiscent of the Jake Gyllenhaal-starring "Nightcrawler" film, which focuses on a nocturnal and ruthless cameraman willing to do anything to get spectacular shots.
At this point, it's unclear how much of the original concept will survive in the project.
The original "Wolf Man" came out in 1941 and became as legendary as Universal Monster predecessors "Dracula," "The Mummy," and "Frankenstein".
When We Can Expect It
"Wolf Man" is scheduled to premiere on October 25.
