Universal has unveiled the first trailer for the new horror film "Abigail" from the directors of "Scream 6"
The upcoming horror from Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet, the creative team behind Ready or Not and the last two instalments of Scream, has been shrouded in mystery throughout production. What is known is that it is part of a series of films based on Universal's classic horror flicks, and is reportedly an adaptation of the 1936 film Dracula's Daughter. Now, we've been given a bit of a curtain-raiser by releasing a new trailer for the film.
Here's What We Know
The trailer from Universal Pictures reveals the first specific details ahead of the film's Abigail release:
The clip shows a kidnapping, centred around a group of young men responsible for kidnapping a girl named Abigail. The scene of Abigail approaching her kidnapper Joey, during which the girl apologises for what will happen to him, seems particularly gripping and dark. We are also shown Abigail taking on the guise of a vampire, emitting a roar with sharp fangs.
When We Can Expect It
The film is set for release on 19 April 2024.
